Papers of Craig Gilbert, a reporter and chief of the Washington, D.C. bureau of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The papers consist of his research for his news articles principally concerning campaign finance reform and the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform Act, but also including subject files on global warming, health care reform, immigration, lobbying reform, and impeachment proceedings against President Bill Clinton. Gilbert's files concerning individual United States politicians and the Wisconsin Delegation include financial disclosure reports, press releases, voting records, biographies, and news articles. Also included are many tape recordings (most on micro-cassettes) of campaign events (principally the presidential campaigns of 2000 and 2004) and interviews conducted by Gilbert. English
