Wisconsin Foundation for the Arts (WFA), founded in 1957 as a nonprofit alliance for the promotion of Wisconsin's arts and artists, received assistance of the governor's office in 1980 to establish the annual Governor's Awards in Support of the Arts ceremony held at the governor's residence. Records compiled by the WFA while organizing the awards ceremony consist of speeches delivered by the governor and hosts, event programs, and invitations. Correspondence includes letters written between WFA leaders and artists and fellow members. Video recordings include the annual award ceremonies held between 2004 and 2010, and the 30 Years Celebration of Governors' Awards in Support of the Arts, 2011. Records also consist of event publications and photographs of award winners and attendees of the annual ceremonies including artists, members, and additional WFA donors. English
