Abstract:

Advertising ink blotters dating from the first half of the 20th century and consisting of 72 albums and miscellaneous loose blotters collected by George S. Baker. A significant portion of the collection consists of blotters from Milwaukee and other Wisconsin locales but blotters from other states are also represented. Subjects include automobiles and services, clothing, food, household goods, manufacturing, medicine (remedies and tonics), politics, and transportation. There are several folders and albums labeled miscellaneous which represent other advertising. The two oversize blotters are from Chevrolet and Union Mutual Life Insurance.
