Abstract:

Record of primarily municipal ordinance violations occurring in the City and Town of Ripon. Also documented are some civil actions (including divorce decrees) and criminal matters to a limited degree. Entries record the names of the plaintiff and defendant; date; sometime the names of the attorneys; charges filed; warrant issued and to whom issued; date of warrant's return; judgment or sentence rendered; and costs incurred. Volume [1] is a Rule Book showing court rulings on motions filed in cases. Volume 2 contains a small number of admissions to citizenship, and a section at the back of the docket contains orders (1872-1877) for individuals to practice law in the county.
