Records, 1994-2008 (bulk 1996-1998), of
the Wisconsin Arts Board, consisting primarily of its activities planning the 1998
Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington, D.C., and the 1998 Wisconsin Folklife Festival
in Madison, Wisconsin. Both festivals were in celebration of the sesquicentennial of
Wisconsin in 1998. Included are administrative documents, materials documenting pre-festival
fieldwork identifying potential participants for both festivals, reports, audio recordings
of both festivals and pre-festival fieldwork, visual materials, and video recordings. Also
included are materials relating to the Wisconsin-Michigan Border Project and the Traditional
Arts Apprenticeship Program.
