Reports, correspondence, and policy documents of the Department of Public Welfare, 1932-1963, with the bulk representing 1933 to 1945. There are program manuals, budgets, procedures, studies, tables and calculations for various relief costs, reports, sample forms. Informational content includes referrals for welfare service, bulletins, building plans and drawings, news clippings, services questionnaires, pamphlets explaining programs, minutes of meetings and agency policies. The collection covers the Great Depression welfare programs extensively, especially the Works Progress Administration (WPA).
