Abstract:
Wisconsin Educational Radio Network (current callsign WERN, former callsign WHA-FM from 1947 to 1974) is a station on Wisconsin Public Radio. In the summer of 1976, WERN aired a series called "Bird Lives!" about jazz musician Charlie Parker (1920-1955) that was hosted by Michael Hanson and Lawrence Gushee (a University of Wisconsin-Madison professor). This collection consists of 10 1/4" audio reel-to-reel tapes containing volumes 4 through 13 of the "Bird Lives!" series.
