The Phyllis Walsh papers (1975-2009)
consist of materials about "Hummingbird: Magazine of the Short Poem" from the magazine's
first editor, Phyllis Walsh (1928-2012). The collection mainly includes correspondence
between Walsh and other poets, notably Cid Corman. There is also correspondence and invoices
with businesses and bookstores, drafts and manuscripts of other works published by the
Hummingbird Press, and poem submissions for various volumes of the magazine. Also included
in this collection are numerous original poems, drafts and notes of manuscripts, submissions
and correspondence to other magazines and presses, and an early scrapbook prior to the start
of the Hummingbird Presspoems.
