Abstract:
The Holmes Welch papers consists of materials such as research, articles and drafts, publications, and conferences notes about Taoism and Chinese Buddhism, the focus of Welch's academic career. Also included in this collection are materials related to the hundreds interviews he conducted from the 1960s until his death in 1981. Some of these interviews have corresponding audio recordings on DATs, cassette tapes, or on 1/4" reels. There is some personal materials in the collection, such as teaching materials for Harvard and Yale, correspondence, and early course work as a student.
