Abstract:
Photocopies of newspaper clippings on various topics pertaining to Native Americans. The articles relate largely to Wisconsin issues, with particular emphasis on the controversy surrounding Chippewa (Ojibwa) spear fishing treaty rights during the late 1980s. The clippings date from 1978 to 1989, with the majority of articles dating 1985-1989. Most of the clippings were taken from the Milwaukee Journal, Milwaukee Sentinel, and the Ashland Daily Press, with some clippings from the New York Times, Washington Post, Green Bay Gazette, Chicago Tribune, UWM Post, Shepherd Express and USA Today.The compiler of these clippings is unknown.
