Biography/History

Common Council Alderman Wayne P. Frank served Milwaukee's 8th District from 1973-2000. He was elected December 4, 1973 to fill the incomplete term of his predecessor Robert J. Jendusa, Sr., who resigned.

Frank grew up in Milwaukee. He attended St Rose Grade School, St. John’s Cathedral High School and then University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee where he received a B.A. in English in 1965. Early in his life he spent time working as a bartender in his uncle’s Merrill Park tavern. He was also known as a playwright with two of his best known works “The Bridge at Mo Duc” and “War Stories From the 20th Century”.
