Southside Businessmen's Association Records

Historical Note

The Southside Businessmen's Association was an organization started in 1946 by businessmen living on the south side of La Crosse, Wisconsin, who regularly got together for luchoens and coffee breaks. The organization's objectives when it started were to gather businessmen of La Crosse together, to share information of matual interest, and to have a say in the legislation that may effect their businesses. While the organization began with members who lived on the south side of La Crosse, as the city expanded the organization grew to include bussinessmen from other parts of La Crosse. This organization remained active until 1995, when it merged with the La Crosse Business Men’s Club to form the La Crosse Area Business Club.
