Abstract:
Records of an affiliate of the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party (MFDP), which was active in local voter education and registration, elections and promotion of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service, and general desegregation work in Quitman County. Included with the papers are general, printed records of the MFDP and ASCS, and an undated draft constitution and printed voter education materials of the Mississippi Freedom Labor Union. There is also a folder of scattered correspondence, mostly undated; arrest records from picketing during the summer of 1965, and a folder of handwritten notes, containing lists of things to do, contacts and their addresses, and plans for proposed work and future projects. Little of the non-printed material in this collection is clearly labeled as to author, recipient, or date.
