: The newsfilm series contains nearly 50,000 news stories broadcast from 1950 to 1980 by
WTMJ-TV, an NBC-affiliated station located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The stories cover
all aspects of Milwaukee history including politics, business and industry, sports,
entertainment, and social justice movements. Of special interest are segments on the
Milwaukee Braves, civil rights activities in Milwaukee during the 1960s, local
businesses such as Allis-Chalmers and the Pabst, Schlitz, and Miller breweries, and of
politicians and celebrities who visited Milwaukee. The program series include the daily
news, special reports, and
The Milwaukee Newsreel and

News Search. A small amount of news footage has been digitized and may be
viewed on the WTMJ-TV News Search website by conducting an advanced search and filtering
viewing options to 'view online'. Most of the collection has not been digitized but is
available for viewing by creating a viewing list and filling out a request form. There
