: Milk originally separated in barn, with place outside for washing separator.Ran water through cement tank to cool cream and butter; butter stored in earthen jars. Windmill provided power to raise water, with gasoline engine for emergency. MS took cream to Mondovi Cooperative Creamery by horse and buggy once or twice per week. Skim milk fed to calves and pigs.
