Series: Series 5: Historians and Agriculturists , (1852-1950)The correspondence between Kellar and other historians and agriculturists in regard to personal concerns, including recommendations, or in connection with his research or theirs, is preserved here in an alphabetical file. Thereunder, the arrangement is chronological. One archives box in the series is given over to the correspondence of, and other materials relating to, Kellar's many faceted friend typographer Douglas C. McMurtrie (see Who's Who in America, 1942-1944). Three boxes of the series contain materials connected with historian of the South Ulrich B. Phillips (see Who's Who in America, 1932-1933), with whom Kellar made trips to Virginia in 1926 and 1927 to seek out manuscripts of historical interest. Included in the Phillips manuscripts are biographical materials, correspondence, biographies and writings, as well as drafts of essays for a memorial volume dedicated to Phillips. A fourth subsection of the series compiles the papers, essays and reprints of articles by historians and others, retained by Kellar in his files. the series also includes some biographies (1927-1942); material on fellowships (1935-1944); and clippings and miscellaneous items (1930-1952) relating to historians and agriculturists.
