Scope and Content Note: This series consists of letterpress copy books of letters written by Cyrus H. McCormick or at his request, and is similar to Series 3A. The emphasis, however, is on politics, religion and mines rather than on the reaper business. Most of the books are indexed alphabetically according to the name of the addressee. Few letters are cataloged. It should be noted that these two letterpress copy book series overlap chronologically with Series 3A.
