At the urging of the Retired Geographers Organization, with support of the History of
Geography Specialty Group and several Association of American Geographers
presidents, these 75 geography department histories were solicited, collected, and
organized by Dr. Malcolm Comeaux, assisted by Dr. Janice Monk. Their goal was to
detail the history of geography departments at universities in the United States and
Canada.
