	Series: 14. Regional Divisions, 1944-2012 Scope and Content Note: Contains the records of regional divisions, such as the East Lakes Division, Middle Atlantic Division, and Southeastern Division of the Association of American Geographers. Regional divisions were inherited from The American Society for Professional Geographers in its merger with the AAG in 1948. Elected "Councilors" from each division are members of the AAG Council, its primary governing body. Division names and boundaries have changed periodically, particularly in the Northeastern U.S. The Pacific Coast Division resulted from recognition of the independent Association of Pacific Coast Geographers (APCG). Documents from annual meetings of regional councilors and division chairs (or directors) are found in Series #3.
