Abstract:

Records consisting of Clerk's general record books, 1849-1967; Treasurer's account books, 1883-1978; election records, 1868-1907; Justice of the Peace dockets, 1858-1926, and a highway record, 1868-1901. Volume 1, page 199 contains the proceedings of a special meeting held on June 15, 1861, recording the townspeople's reactions to the outbreak of the Civil War.
