Title: Queer Archives Drive collection Quantity: 3 Linear Feet One records storage carton and one oversized box Zines, correspondence, posters, and miscellaneous materials Call Number: uac248 Abstract: The Queer Archives Drive was held in the Gender and Sexuality Campus Center on February 28, 2024. The event included materials to make zines and buttons and encouraged students to donate their creations or other materials to the archives. This collection includes physical and digital materials documenting the daily lives of queer students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, from their coursework to their relationships to their exploration of identity. The physical materials include syllabi, correspondence, photographs, publications, zines, event posters, buttons, collages, and journal entries. Notable items include a transition timeline, printed texts between lovers, zines about queer sexuality, and a poster for a Queer Desi Ball on campus. The digital files include photographs, videos, and text documents documenting the daily lives of queer undergraduate and graduate students and their creative work. They include photos of dorm rooms, a gay club one student visited, and notes about a project to expand gender inclusive housing on campus. |
