Abstract:
Papers of Elizabeth Herfurth, a Madison, Wisconsin, teacher, organizer and president of the Teachers' Retirement Fund Association, and secretary of the board of trustees to administer the fund. The correspondence shows the organization of the drive for the passage of the law, attitudes toward it, queries concerning its administration, rulings of the attorney general, and efforts to repeal and amend the law. With these are drafts of the bill, petitions, and questionnaires, and material on pension laws in other states.
