Abstract:
Papers of a Menomonie, Wisconsin school librarian consisting largely of letters from World War II servicemen. Miss Dockar, as advisor to the student council, sent the student newspaper to the servicemen and supplied them with addresses of friends and similar information. The letters are responses to these activities and often contain news to pass on to the newspaper or to others. Some letters were received in connection with similar work she conducted for Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. The letters are arranged alphabetically and include one entire folder of letters from Robert Mills, an Army officer serving in the Pacific. Also in the collection are miscellaneous items from Miss Dockar's library work, plus several items she preserved which include a poem written by Robert Steinbring of Menomonie, notes on Menomonie history, and an updated broadside advertising appearances at the Menomonie Opera House by Mrs. J. L. Hjort, Professor R. B. Anderson, and Henrich M. Gunnersen.
