Abstract:
Photographs of a historical nature found in the office of the prison warden. Included are interior and exterior views of prison buildings, the prison farm, quarry, and McNaughton State Camp at Lake Tomahawk; the staff; and educational and vocational activities of prisoners. Additional photographs depict the rotunda, nearby Tank Cottage, the aftermath of several attempted escapes, Green Bay in winter, the dedication of a court house memorial on the prison grounds (1934), and Pamperin Park. Several color photos removed from a scrapbook depict construction and a shakedown in 1980. Most of the images are undated, but the majority are believed to date from the pre-1979 period when the prison was known as the Wisconsin State Reformatory.
