Abstract:
Organizational records of militia companies established in 1863 under provisions of the Laws of Wisconsin, 1862-1863 and companies organized in the post-Civil War years. A few companies that disbanded or whose organization was not accepted by the Adjutant General are also present. Included are notices of the intention of organize; minutes; lists of members; reports of the election of officers; commissions issued to officers; and special orders approving organization, promoting officers, separating officers from the service, and disbanding companies.
