Abstract:

Surety bonds, receipts, vouchers, and other records used by the Quartermaster General of the State Militia and the Wisconsin National Guard to monitor the arms and ordnance inventory of local companies and to distribute and collect armaments. The distribution records generally list commanding officers and location of the company; date; and information on the type, quantity, and value of the weapons issued. The inventory records consist of detailed lists of arms and accouterments held by individual companies, together with information on the condition of the equipment.
