Scope and Content Note

The Gilman Relief Workers' main activities included sending fruit baskets to the elderly and the sick, sending sympathy cards, sending cards to local persons serving in the Armed Forced, as well as donating to charities such as the Red Cross. Included in the collection are minute books, some loose correspondence, and a scrapbook. The minute books consist of membership lists, a record of activities, and a running tally of the group's expenses and revenues. The scrapbook consists entirely of cards, notes, and an occasional v-mail from beneficiaries of the group's work.
