Abstract:
Watercolors and other works by Byron C. Jorns, 1946, 1956-1957. A native of Portage, Wisconsin, Jorns worked as an artist for the University of Wisconsin Department of Agricultural Journalism. Watercolors, circa 1946, consist of a Norwegian church near Daleyville, Wisconsin and other scenes. Dry-brush drawings, 1956-1957, of wildlife and conservation practices were made for a newspaper series, “Way of the Outdoors,” offered by the Wisconsin Conservation Department. Drawings consist of Wisconsin environments, animals, wildlife, and woodsmen. Included with each sketch is a copy of the image and accompanying text. The series was later published as a book, Wisconsin's Way of the Outdoors.
