Biography/History
Company K was organized in 1874 as the Kosciuszko Guard by Milwaukee Polish-Americans. As Company B (the second militia unit formed in Milwaukee), the unit mobilized but did not serve in the Spanish-American War. In 1898 the Wisconsin state guard was reorganized and the Company received the designation “K”. The unit was stationed on the U.S.-Mexican border in 1916, and saw service in World Wars I and II.
