Correspondence, post cards, photographs, and personal documents of Antoni Plichta, and Edward and Stanislaw Malkowski, father and maternal uncles of the donor, Regina Sobczak, Cudahy, Wisconsin. Included are official documents in Polish, English, and Russian; personal correspondence from Europe; photographs; and biographical notes written by the donor.

Scope and Content Note

Included are Antoni Plichta's passport (in Russian, 1911); declaration of intention to become a U.S. citizen, 1913; official documents in Polish and Russian, 1902-1904, including a Russian identity card, 1904; two post cards to his wife, Marya (nee Malkowska), 1913 and 1915, and two unidentified group photographs. Concerning Edward Malkowski are post cards and letters, mostly to his sister Marya in Milwaukee, dating from 1919 to 1948. There are also two post card style photos of Edward and a few transcribed biographical notes written by the donor. There is also a letter, 1921 and photograph, 1922 of Stanislaw Malkowski, a sailor in the Polish Navy who was killed during a military celebration; and a playbill from the production Kordjan, April 25, 1936, in which Mieczyslaw and Regina Plichta appeared.
