Abstract:
Records gathered by Charles W. Tyrrell and others during his research for Steeples on the Prairies, a history of the Primitive Methodist Church in the Midwest. Included are published disciplines, conference minutes, and relevant items from periodicals and newspapers; transcriptions of published items; and many original records relevant to southwestern Wisconsin. Present are letters and memoirs of pioneer pastors; minutes of the General (national) Conference, the Western Conference, and the Western Conference's Connexional Committee; and various recordbooks and other documents of several of the local churches and circuits.

These materials were brought together for microfilming through the efforts of Charles Tyrrell and officers and members of the Primitive Methodist Churches in southwestern Wisconsin (Middlewest) and the main office in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.
