Abstract:
Collected papers documenting the family life, healthcare, and education of Catherine "Cathy" Harriet White (1969-2007). White was born with cerebral palsy and only had use of her legs but through her own efforts and those of her supportive family, was able to communicate through signals and a keyboard. She attended school in Beloit (Wis.) where she became the first severely physically handicapped student to graduate from Beloit High School. She passed away in 2007 at the age of 38. The collection includes school and medical files, calendars, financial records, news clippings, correspondence, and artwork drawn by White. There are also some flash cards and paper tools used by White to communicate, as well as communication guides corresponding to the signals made by White.

Language: The records are in English.
