Records of the Róger Calero Defense Committee (RCDC) documenting their efforts to prevent Calero, a permanent U.S. resident and journalist, from being deported.

Calero was detained by the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service in December 2002 as he was returning from a reporting assignment in Mexico. Deportation proceedings were initiated and Calero, in association with the Political Rights Defense Fund, responded with a public campaign to fight the charges leveled against him. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security terminated the proceedings against Calero on May 22, 2003.

The records consist of legal files, media coverage, and protest letters and petitions. The legal records include correspondence and pre-detention, arrest, and additional documents relating to the legal fight. Also included are 2 photographs of Calero in detention and 3 DVDs consisting of a Spanish language program documenting Calero's fight and a rally organized in his support.
