Abstract:
Papers, 1955-2001, principally documenting John Reynolds' tenure as United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Wisconsin (7th Circuit Court) and consisting of subject files, case files, personal correspondence, news clippings, photographs, and films. Appointed in 1965, he became chief federal judge in 1971, and in 1986 assumed senior judge status. Reynolds was perhaps best known for his decision that set in motion the racial desegregation of the Milwaukee schools.
