The Spicer-Buschman Printing Company was founded in 1886 by Ernest Spicer, a printer, and Victor Buschman, a pressman-machine operator. The firm printed the first La Crosse city directory, school yearbooks, the student newspaper of La Crosse State University, and the local labor paper among other things. After 82 years of service, the company was purchased in 1968 by Inland Printing Company and closed.
