Abstract:

Criminal Record volumes, 1871-1941, and Criminal Calendar volumes, 1852-1879. Calendar volumes list all criminal cases for each court term. Entries typically provide names of the parties, attorneys, sometimes the action type, date of summons and complaint or judgment. Criminal record volumes contain a summary record of proceedings taken and papers filed in criminal cases. Each record includes the defendant's name, type of crime, list all papers filed and subpoenas issued, and contains a summary of the trial proceedings, verdicts and sentences. Volume 1 and 2 records the text of documents filed. Some volumes include a name index.
