Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of 9 episodes of the half hour-long sitcom television series The Odd Couple, which ran on ABC (1970-1975) for five seasons. Based on the Neil Simon Broadway play of the same name and the characters made famous by the 1967 motion picture starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau; the series told the story of two recently divorced, mismatched men sharing a New York apartment. The series starred Tony Randall as Felix Unger, a prim, fastidious, neat-freak photographer; and Jack Klugman as Oscar Madison, a sloppy and casual sportswriter, and documented the inevitable conflicts and laughs caused by their different lifestyles.

While a total of approximately 114 episodes of The Odd Couple aired over its five year run, this collection contains only 9 of the original episodes from all five seasons. Each episode has a running time of approximately thirty minutes. All the reels in this collection are 16 mm color prints with sound. Individual episodes consist of one reel each.
