Abstract:

School district record volumes consisting of annual meeting minutes and financial reports (1849-1897), treasurers' books (1857-1952), pupil registers (1872-1875, 1900-1944), and a 100th anniversary reunion book (1949) containing a history, list of teachers, and reunion attendees. Other records in folders include: 1) tax rolls (1849, 1852), contracts to build school house (1849, 1870), clerks' and treasurers' reports, memoranda concerning school district boundary changes, and an 1850 appeal to the State Superintendent by many Norwegian residents to settle a disagreement with the Americans about building the school house; 2) pupil registers (1853-1854), teacher contracts (1850-1861), and treasurers' bonds (1849-1869).
