Abstract:
The collection consists of four silent Kodachrome films, circa 1940s, documenting aspects of agriculture in Door County, Wisconsin. Included is footage of horticulture spraying and ground spraying; men digging trees, brief shots of Hobb's Nursery, and unloading trees at Fruit Growers Cooperative in Sturgeon Bay; and cherry harvesting by young migrant workers from Jamaica and Mexico (according to the description in the film can), and images of a peach crop and apple harvest.
