Abstract:

Newsreels produced by United Press Movietone, later known as United Press International Newsfilm and United Press International Television News, which was at the forefront of international television newsgathering and had a vast network of foreign bureaus around the world with film crews capturing images of the events and people that defined the era. These are UPI Newsfilm numbers 10 through 35, and were originally acquired by WKOW-TV in Madison, Wisconsin. Subjects include national and international news from 1959. All footage is in black and white and separated into distinct segments, some with sound and some without.
