Abstract:
Records, 1978-1981, of the Division of Community Services related to the Community Action Program (CAP), now the Wisconsin Community Action Program Association (WISCAP), a voluntary association of Wisconsin's 16 Community Action Agencies (CAAs) and 3 special purpose agencies that have state-wide anti-poverty missions. The Association's mission since 1974 has been to strengthen the economic self-sufficiency for Wisconsin's low-income households by working on issues related to policy, resource mobilization, training and development, and advocacy. These records are particularly strong in documenting programs designed to provide low-income families with energy and fuel assistance.
