Abstract:
This collection includes clippings, ephemera, party invitations, menus, and artifacts collected by gay activists Mark Blank and Rodney Schreiner. They hosted an April Fool's Day party from 1980 to 2000, the first Outreach Garden Party fundraiser in 2009, and an event instructing guests about safer sex during the HIV-AIDS epidemic. Rodney Schreiner was a Senior Scientist in the Department of Chemistry, and member of the National Organization of Gay and Lesbian Scientists and Technical professionals. Mark Blank worked as a Purchasing Agent for Employee Trust Funds.
