The Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies records includes records documenting the activities of the Institute between 1964 and 2010. The documents present include meeting agendas and minutes for a variety of committees, documents regarding governance and structure, outreach programs, correspondence from the office of the Institute's director, budgets, and reports produced by the Institute. The Nelson Institute houses four interdisciplinary research centers: The Center for Climatic Research, the Center for Culture, History and Environment, the Center for Sustainability and the Global Environment, and the Center for Ecology and the Environment. The institute supports various avenues of research in the area of Environmental Studies as well as facilitating and undergraduate major in Environmental Studies and a variety of graduate programs.
