Records of Abraxas Press, a small press
located in Madison, Wisconsin, dating from 1966 to 1992. The majority of the collection
consists of materials pertaining to ABRAXAS, a little magazine published by Abraxas press,
which featured work by American poets, such as Charles Bukowski. Records include the
original manuscripts of poems and other writings sent to the magazine for review, mockups
for forthcoming issues, and correspondence between editors and contributors, as well as
correspondence between the editors, Warren Woessner and Ingrid Swanberg. Also included is
information about grants for which the press applied and other writings, including
miscellaneous poems and a manuscript for Essays and Dissolutions by Darrel Gray, published
by Abraxas Press in 1977. English .
