The collection was given to the Milwaukee Public Library at an unknown date and by an unknown donor. The Milwaukee Public Library transferred the collection to the UWM Libraries in May 1991 (accession number 1995-059). Larry DeMaster donated the English translation in December 1998; Nicole Chandler translated the diary.
Juanita Cutter and Shawn Carlson processed the collection at the Archives between May-October 1991.
