Abstract:
Collection contains miscellaneous records of the faculty and student chapters of an organization which was formed to protect civil liberties and academic freedom on the campus. Included are nonconfidential files of cases which were brought to the ACLU Chapter by people who felt their rights had been violated, projects, and correspondence.

Biography/History

The faculty chapter was formed in 1969 and disappeared after 1971. Frank Cassell of the UWM History Department served as chair. The student chapter was formed in 1970 and also disappeared after 1971. Its chair was Howard Silberman.
