The Retired Faculty Association was organized in 1961 out of a desire by retired faculty to maintain contact with the University community. The Association fosters relations between the University and retired members of the faculty and staff and enables retired members to continue their personal relations.

Acquisition Information

Eunice Bardell transferred a container of records, dating from 1968-1976, to the Archives in 1986. An unknown individual transferred the remainder of the collection to the Archives. Maureen Burke from the Office of the Assistant Chancellor for University Relations sent newsletters dating from 1993-1995 to the Archives in January 1996. Maureen Burke sent the 1997 newsletter to the Archives in August 1997. The Retired Faculty Association donated additional materials in July 2011 (accession 2011-001).

Processing Information

Christel Maass processed the collection at the Archives in August 1995. Christel Maass added the newsletters dating from 1993-1995 to the collection in January 1996. Christel Maass added the 1997 newsletter to the collection in August 1997. Jessica Sawinski added some additional newsletters to the collection in October and November 2005. Julie Hatfield (supervised by Christel Maass) added accession 2011-001 to the collection in August 2012. Charles Welborn processed additional material in August 2012.
