Abstract:

Records of the UWM Panhellenic Council and its predecessors, the Inter-Society Council (1930-1932) and the Intersorority Council (1932-1958), largely documenting the activities of this organization which governed campus social sororities. The collection contains constitutions and by-laws, minutes, rosters, rushing and installation materials, as well as information on balls, dances, and other functions sponsored by this student organization.

The Inter-Society Council was formed in 1925 at the Wisconsin State Normal School in Milwaukee. In 1932 its name was changed to the Intersorority Council, and in 1958 it became the Panhellenic Council.

This organization governed and coordinated activities between the social sororities on campus. The Panhellenic Council was also part of a nation-wide organization, the National Panhellenic Conference.

The files are organized alphabetically by subject, then chronologically.
