Abstract:
The bulk of the collection consists of annual reports, committee reports and meeting minutes, and College of Letters & Science Dean Baier's correspondence with the faculty regarding curriculum requirements. The collection also contains honors program brochures, course descriptions, and planning documents. Other materials include newsletters, notes and announcements; and a cumulative policy matters folder containing meeting minutes documenting honors program developments.

Biography/History

The honors program of the College of Letters & Science was formed in October 1959 and inaugurated in September 1960. The honors program was designed to give exceptional students a chance to improve in an intellectual atmosphere.

Part of the collection was transferred to the Archives prior to 1989. Tamera Lenz transferred additional materials to the Archives in November 1995 (accession number 95-028).

Karen L. Esvang processed the collection at the Archives in July 1994. Jessica Sawinski added the 1995 accession to the collection in February 2006.
