Miscellaneous records of the department, the bulk of which is
in correspondence files, largely concerning curriculum development, exhibits, funding, and
staffing. The correspondence files contain records on the origins and early development of
the department, including the controversy as to which school or college would administer it.
There is some information on the department's support for a bachelor's degree program in
religious studies, a 1965 exhibit of Greek and Russian icons, the William and Eileen Liebman
Lectures in the History of Art, and brochures on a variety of other exhibits.
